Over the past few weeks, we've been putting our Read with Biff, Chip & Kipper app into the hands of some popular family bloggers. It's been fascinating to read about how their young children have been using the apps.
One of our favourite insights came from Amy (In My Bubble) and her two sons. Her boys really enjoyed the interactive game pages, especially the one where you need to find all the items beginning with the letter 'd'. They loved it so much that they then went all hunted around the house for things that they'd seen in the app.

This got us thinking about how apps can act as springboards for other activities with your kids. Not only does this keep the fun alive, but it's a great way to reinforce learning.
So, here are a few ideas to get you started.
Purple and the Cupcakes (free to download) is all about sharing cupcakes. Read the book, discuss the ideas, then make some yummy cupcakes to share with family and friends.
Have a read of Annie Apple and the Ants and then go on a nature walk to see if you can find any.
There are colouring pages in all the Letterland apps. Save the image to your device's photo album. Then print them off and use crayons and paints to colour them in (we'd love to see them!).
In Level 2 of Read with Biff, Chip & Kipper there is a book called "Silly Races". After reading the book, get active and make up your own silly races using bits and pieces from around the house. Cushions make excellent obstacles courses!
We'd love to hear your ideas too!
