My passion for the blend of technology and language comes out of the close relationship I had with the film and TV industry. My career began as an actor and director leading to a successful career in the arts and digital arena. I have directed many plays in Turkey and continue to do so.

I first met Ray in 2001 when I was the Executive Director of the Doncaster Digital Knowledge Exchange (DKE). The DKE was established by me for Doncaster University Centre to help bridge the gap between academia and industry. Specifically aimed at Small to Medium Enterprises, the facility showcased the best of digital technology and supplied affordable training to qualifying new companies. Ray Maguire, who at the time was Senior Vice President at Sony Entertainment UK came to our DKE launch to deliver the inaugural speech. The relationship developed and the collaboration was to last 8 years until the funding for the project came to an end.

Subsequent to DKE I helped establish and became a consultant with an Ali Koc company, Digital Panorama, based in Istanbul. Digital Panorama was formed to explore emerging digital technology such as 3-D, Augmented Reality and near field RF Technology. Again, Ray and I crossed paths with his passion of utilising Playstation products for education and our passion for developing new ways of consumer interaction. The relationship continues with GAZOOB.

Having spent many years as an educator in the fields of Autism, Asberger Syndrome and Special Needs I realised the power of digital technology in helping disadvantaged students achieve their goals. Through my position as Deputy Head of Learning for the Linden House Group I was able to explore how digital technologies could advance learning to this particular group of students. My career began as a writer for theatre but quickly developed with a growing passion in the educational Special Needs arena. At the same time I began teaching Turkish as a foreign language to English speakers and began exploring other avenues of delivering this education. It became obvious to me that it was essential to begin learning another language at an early age and that digital technologies held the key to success.

I was fortunate in that I was already involved in the world of digital technologies and language my work having moved into the more formal areas of interpreting and translating for the Police, Home Office and the NHS.

Gazoob digital books and Apps at home and at school, between teacher and student and also between parents and their children will prove that learning English at an early age is the key to certain success.

I am so proud to be part of the Gazoob journey here in Turkey.
